Here is some more information about the services I can provide to help you in your recovery after the earthquakes.

The Practice

If you are feeling stressed, or are having trouble coping with everything that is going on, please don’t hesitate to come in and see me. In the practice I can see you as a regular general practitioner, and also treat you with homeopathic remedies and flower essences as well, if you wish. I do have spaces for new patients at present.

I’m working part time at Princess Margaret Hospital until the end of August, but when you ring I can make an appointment time that suits you.

And by the way, the house is quite safe, and has had ongoing engineers inspections.

Christchurch Relief Essence

Many people have been taking the Christchurch Relief Essence since the earthquakes, and I have heard a lot of reports that people have found it to be helpful.

It is still available from reception for $20, and if I am out of the practice I leave an honesty box outside the front door. The Christchurch Flower Essences are totally natural, and are made from Christchurch flowers sourced locally. Meditations

I am offering guided meditations at The Light House on Tuesdays at 6pm.

These are from Orin’s course Transcending Your Ego, and the topic I’m presenting most often is “Knowing the Peace of your Divine Self”.

I am very fortunate to be offering these courses. The series is ongoing, and there won’t be a teacher’s course for a number of years, but I feel that they are what people in Christchurch need at present, and have been given permission to pass them on as an Introduction to Orin’s courses.

You don’t need to have meditated before to come to these sessions, and you don’t need to be able to make your mind blank or stop your thoughts (the most commonly asked questions). You wear normal clothes, and sit comfortably on a sofa.

These are free, although please let me know if you are coming, so I know how many people to prepare for.

CTV Interview

I have been recently interviewed for the CTV programme Onwards and Upwards, which features people who are helping with recovery after the earthquakes. They made several hours of recordings, so it will be interesting to see how the programme comes out.

This programme goes to air on the CTV channel at 7.30pm on Wednesday 27 July, and is repeated on the Maori channel at 1.30pm on Thursday 28 July.

Open Day

I will have an Open Day at The Light House on Saturday 30 July, from 10am to 1pm.

Come in and look around the practice, and ask questions, and bring your friends.

Christchurch is Special

The CTV interviewer asked me about what I think is happening in Christchurch since the earthquakes, and it got me thinking. People have had to deal with dreadful situations, and ongoing uncertainty. The only way we’ve managed is by letting go of our fixed ideas, and reaching out to one another. There is an amazing amount of caring and compassion, and somehow we’ve managed to transcend our limitations, and make contact with something that is more meaningful, but also less tangible. This has required an enormous amount of faith, because every time another episode happens we are forced again to face up to our deepest fears.

I have heard from a number of sources that humankind are transitioning to a higher state of consciousness, and it feels as if we are right in the middle of this transition, and are demonstrating to ourselves and others the way to get through. But I have a feeling that the more we reach for a higher meaning in all the suffering, the easier it will get.
